An affidavit is a written declaration made under oath before someone legally authorized to administer an oath.  Affidavits are generally used for court proceedings and have the same legal effect as oral evidence given under oath.  One of our Notaries Public can administer the oath and sign the affidavit as confirmation of the oath.
The Process of Administering an Affidavit
The person(s) swearing the affidavit must appear in person before one of our Notaries Public.  The Notary Public will verify the identity of the person, satisfy herself of the genuineness of the signature of the person(s) swearing the affidavit, and will administer an oath or solemn affirmation.   Please note that the Notary Public does not certify that the declaration in the affidavit is true, but only certifies that the oath has been administered properly.
